lyrics

Into The Past

looking at photos
laughing at clothes
smiling faces know
something we don't

isn’t that your aunt
with a bouffant
your great uncle
looks great drunk

music was better
people were happier
eating bad foods
with cigarettes

wasting money
on rusting houses
taking vacations
without thinking about it

into the past
it can never last
how could things
have come to this

into the past
having a blast
basking in
pure innocence

you were the woman
I was the man
we put kids in our lives
and cared for them

we had money
for things
everyone worked
there were industries

we dream of a life
we can have together
reminded in photos
when things were better

into the past
for minutes at a time
sweetest and sadness
sticks in our minds
